Venture Faculty Advises Nodu in Obtaining MiCA Licence in Latvia

Venture Faculty is pleased to announce the successful completion of another licensing project, having advised Nodu Digital SIA in obtaining a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) licence from Latvijas Banka.
With this approval, Nodu becomes the 10th company in Latvia to receive a MiCA-compliant crypto-asset services licence.
The MiCA licence authorizes Nodu to provide the following crypto-asset services:
- Crypto-asset transfer services on behalf of clients
- Exchange of crypto-assets for funds
Separately, Nodu also received a Payment Institution (PSP) licence from Latvijas Banka, allowing the company to provide money remittance services.
This marks an important milestone for both Nodu and Latvia's growing digital finance ecosystem. Under the European Union's MiCA framework, crypto-asset service providers licensed in one EU Member State can expand their services across the European Union through the regulation's cross-border passporting mechanism.
Venture Faculty is proud to have supported Nodu throughout the MiCA licensing process. We would also like to thank our partner Māris Miglinieks, who advised the company on the successful acquisition of its Payment Institution licence, and acknowledge the constructive cooperation of Latvijas Banka throughout the licensing process.
Congratulations to the entire Nodu team on this significant achievement. We look forward to seeing the company continue its growth and expand its services across the European Union.
