Russians in Latvia are considered to be the largest national minority: their country has almost 25% or 471 thousand, while Latvians themselves are 62.5%. There are many reasons for moving here: low prices for housing, food and household goods, a convenient climate, the opportunity to travel around Europe and the ease of obtaining a residence permit. For entrepreneurs, Latvia offers good opportunities for the development of new companies and low taxes: half of the companies opened in 2014-2016 were foreign companies.
